HANDING OVER/SWEARING-IN CEREMONY

S.107

All elected and appointed Union officers shall hand over ALL Union properties in their possession to the newly sworn-in Student Union and Halls of Residence officers.
Such handing over shall be done immediately after the oath of office has been instituted on every new officer of the Union/Halls.
For the purpose of Article Twenty (S107A), if the Student Union general election has not been held as at the end of the session and the Principal officers as recognized by Article Twelve (88A) will cease to be Union members by the following session, they shall handover all Union properties in their possession to the most senior key officer of the Union who shall head an INTERIM GOVERNMENT to be constituted by the JCA.
The Interim Government shall serve for the period till the Student Union general election holds. Such general election shall be held no later than one month after the commencement of the new session.

This shall be a ceremony where deserving officers, any ordinary members be given award of merit and elected officers sworn-in by the Vice-Chancellor.

The ceremony shall be performed in order stated below:
Dissolution of the outgoing elected officers by the Dean, Student Affairs
Swearing-in of the elected officers starting with the Principal Officers of the Union followed by the other elected officers of the FEC, Senate and FJC by the University lawyer or his representative.
Presidential address by the newly sworn-in President.
Senate Presidential address by the newly sworn-in President of the Senate.
Award of Certificate for the outgoing officers of the union.
Address by the Vice- Chancellor.
Closing by the Student Affairs Officers

There shall be a swearing-in ceremony for the elected executives of both the Male and Female Hall of Residence by the Male and Female Hall Wardens and shall be addressed by the Dean, Student Affairs.
The Dean, Student Affairs in conjunction with the Hall Wardens shall issue out certificate of office to the outgoing executives shortly after their dissolution.
